Personal Info

Dr. V.P.S. started his surgical practice in 1979 and is now the Chief consultant and laparoscopic and general surgeon at Hindustan Hospital, Coimbatore. He has so far performed all types of general surgical operations and advanced laparoscopic procedures. Thyroid, breast, and kidney transplantation surgeries are his specialties. He has patients from Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Dubai, Muscat and Kenya who have undergone successful treatments from him. Being a socially aware person he has conducted 500 health awareness programs for employees of various organizations, corporations, the general public, college students, Rotarians, and lions. In addiction to this he has organised 200 general surgical camps in rural areas and has performed thousands of free surgeries for the poor people.

  2. Professor of Surgery has been conducting Postgraduate Course of DNB from the year 1994; so far 7 Postgraduates have passed out.
  3. First to start the DNB General Surgery course in K. G. Hospital, Coimbatore.

Special interests :

Dr. VPS has a been interest and great experience in a wide range of laparoscopic surgery involving total laparoscopic hysterectomy, hand-assisted laparoscopy, prevention & management of laparoscopic complications, endocrine surgery, peripheral vascular occlusive disease, mesenteric vascular disease, gastroesophageal reflux, bowel motility disorder, vascular access surgery, and hernia surgery.

MRCS Examinaon

He was honoured with the invitation from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, which enabled him to visit the United Kingdom to oversee an examination in progress during November 2005. Following the visit, K.G. Hospital, Coimbatore, got the recognition as an examination center for MRCS, and the first examination was held during January 2006 at Coimbatore.
